Research Interests:

Dr. Kendra Jason is an interdisciplinary health disparities scholar who examines individual level factors, contextual level factors (i.e. the workplace), and life events that may influence the relationship between health and desired workforce participation for older African American workers. Her program of research seeks to identify contributing factors to health disparities by examining the links between race, discrimination, workforce behaviors, and care processes. She is currently on the steering committee for The Sloan Research on Aging & Work–an international, multidisciplinary research network focused on the changing circumstances of work in later life.

CLAS Race and Social Justice Advocate

Dr. Kendra Jason is an inaugural CLAS Race and Social Justice Advocate at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Jason has over 15 years of diversity, equity, and inclusion experience and her research on the topics of organizational behavior and management, Black women academics, teaching about racism, and diversity, equity and inclusion in the university can be found in refereed journals, technical reports, book chapters, and teaching outlets. Her work has been featured at The National Academy of Sciences and in media outlets, including Forbes.com. She is a sought-out speaker on race and equity in the workplace.
